EMERGENCY KIT

- Pack an emergency kit ready for you at a moment’s notice and include the following items:

- Pack at least one gallon of water per person per day for at least 3 days.

- Store a 3-day supply of non-perishable foods for you and your family—packaged foods, cans of chili etc. Remember to pack a can opener!

- Remember any special dietary needs.

- Avoid foods that will make you thirsty such as chips and popcorn.

- Pack a flashlight and extra batteries.

- First aid Kit.

- Whistle to signal for help.

- Dust mask

- Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation.

- Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities

- Pet food for you animals.

- Cash

- Household chlorine bleach and medicine dropper—when diluted, nine parts of water to one part bleach. Bleach can be used as a disinfectant. You can use it to treat water by using 16 drops of regular household liquid bleach per gallon of water. Do not use scented, color safe or bleaches with added cleaners.
